Live Music at The Old Bear
We are planning an 'unplugged music night on Thursday 15th February 2007.  We are looking for singer/songwriters who can perform up to three songs, their own or covers.  Julie Cromwell a local singer/songwriter is coordinating the evening and can be contacted on 07973 291971.
Customer Service Excellence Awards
I am very pleased to announce that The Old Bear is a finalist in the Wessex Chamber of Commerce customer service excellence awards.  The overall winner from a shortlist of fifteen local companies will be decided and announced at an awards ceremony on Tuesday 6th March at Trowbridge Civic Hall.

Pub Chef of the Year Award

Jon did not win the Pub Chef of the year award in London last month but I am pleased that he was considered as a finalist in these prestigious national awards.  He is again a finalist in the Bath Chef of the Year Awards which are being held next week in Bath.  Our ex(as of last week) apprentice chef Dean Mallows is also a finalist in the Bath Young Chef of the Year Awards.  At sixteen he is arguably the youngest competitor.
